MONICA E. KOHLHAMMER | RN, BScN, MSA, ICD.D
President and Senior Consultant E:
Monica established MK Strategy Group in 2000 for one reason: to make a difference – in society, in the community, and in the organizations she serves. On top of this strong commitment, Monica is also an energetic leader, an insightful strategic thinker, and an inspiring community builder. She is passionate about creative thought.
With more than 25 years of diverse experience, much of it dealing with challenges and growth in the health industry, it’s not surprising that Monica is often called upon for her expertise in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs related to community, health, wellness, and social services. Monica believes in a holistic and flexible approach, but also brings the keen edge of a strategist and entrepreneur to every project. A real gift is her ability to listen and help others envision what is possible.
Monica’s capacity for outside-the-box thinking and careful, analytical management style are showcased in the successful outcomes of complex projects like the mixed-use Alberta community of Harmony (developing its strategic vision for health and well-being), and the Canmore Economic Development Authority (CEDA) Health and Well-being Summit Strategic Plan
Her work on projects such as the medical services Long-term Care Alternate Relationship Plan (ARP), and the Alberta Seniors and Community Supports Accommodation Services Implementation Project (ASIP) – Orientation Services, is a testament to her innovative problem-solving skills and natural leadership abilities.
Monica is a committed continuous learner and a regular contributor to the community and her professional practice groups. She is a member of the Canadian College of Heath Leaders (CCHL), and a certified corporate director with the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D). Monica is also a corporate director of Calgary Economic Development (CED), a member of the Mount Royal University Bissett School of Business Entrepreneurial Partner Council, and a clinical associate of the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary.
