Murtaza is a professional medical consultant whose health care specialty experience and expertise covers areas as wide-ranging as cardiovascular technology, biotechnology, and organ and tissue transplantation. He also has a solid background in health care administration, project management, and research and development of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
He puts it all together in innovative, creative ways, and often it’s the community at large that benefits from his work and leadership. For example, he broadened his role as a tutor to form a cadre of university student ‘ambassadors’ that developed and carried out community improvement projects for low income citizens. He also serves the community on the board of the Alberta-based Coalition for Equal Access to Education.
Murtaza’s academic credentials are as impressive as his leadership skills. He holds a Master of Biomedical Technology degree, and while completing these studies, received the Alberta Innovates scholarship for his potential in the health care field. He also holds a Diploma of Health Services Administration from Dalhousie University in Halifax; a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Calgary; an (Honours) Cardiologist Technologist Diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology; and has additional training in various cardiac, biosafety and first aid/CPR technologies.
He has worked closely with – and as a part of – the health services sector for more than 15 years, as a project manager, tissue transplant specialist, researcher, and cardiology technologist.
As a member of the MK Strategy Group, Murtaza will be bringing his academic training and his on-the-ground experience in current health care and business environments to help develop innovative solutions to challenging projects with which MK is involved.
